August Recess Actions

Federal employees continue to face serious threats—from agency funding and staffing cuts to attacks on union rights—and we must continue to remind Members of Congress about the critical work you do every day to serve the American people.

What you can do:

Attend a town hall or district event and urge your Members of Congress to:

• Fund federal agencies to ensure your agency can meet its mission.

• Stop mass firings and the dismantling of federal programs.      

Protect federal employee rights by opposing bills and efforts by the administration to undermine unions and union rights.

How you can do it:

1. Find a local event – Visit your Members of Congress’ website or call their district office.

2. Coordinate with your chapter – Reach out to your chapter president or legislative coordinator.

Be prepared – Bring talking points, share your story, and ask for their support.

Remember to:

• Send letters on these issues using NTEU’s Legislative Action Center and share with family and friends so they can take action too!
